Housewife drowns in Isabela river

CABAGAN, Isabela – A 30-year-old housewife drowned when she plunged into the river from the Cansan Overflow Bridge in Barangay Cansan here on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

The Isabela Police Provincial Office identified the victim as Marilyn Masiddo, 30, of San Rafael Alto, Sto. Tomas, Isabela.

Investigation revealed that Masiddo was the backrider of a motorcycle with sidecar driven by Rody Aggabao, 58, of Sto. Tomas, Isabela.

Aggabao accidentally bumped the edge of the Cansan Overflow Bridge and Massido plunged into the river.

The Cabagan police and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRMMO), aided by Santo Tomas police, launched a search and rescue operation and recovered the victim’s remains.
