Screening, training begin for indigenous clothing volunteer models
The screening and training have started for the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) volunteer models who will showcase contemporary clothes made out of indigenous designed fabrics in a fashion show.

According to the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), an estimate of 30 male and female models ages 18 and above from Cordillera to Mindanao will be a part of the advocacy to promote traditional and commercial IP fabrics.
This is one of the most anticipated events in the upcoming celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Month in October.
Officials and staff from NCIP Central Office and Calabarzon, JCI QC Diamante, and Fashion Designers Circle of the Philippines were also present at the event held last Sept. 18 at the JCI QC Diamante office in Quezon City.
Director Larry Asistin from Tagline Events conducted the training of the models, as per NCIP.
The National Indigenous Peoples Month is celebrated annually every October pursuant to the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act signed on Oct. 29, 1997.
It is dedicated to recognizing, protecting, and promoting the rights of Indigenous cultural Communities/IPs.
The date of signing also serves as the National Indigenous Peoples Thanksgiving day.
