P14-M shabu seized in Cebu City buy-busts

CEBU CITY – Suspected shabu valued at more P14 million was seized in separate buy-bust operations here on Tuesday night, Sept. 20.

In Barangay Sawang Calero, police seized packs of shabu worth P7.6 million from John Mark Cuizon, 26.

Police Major Francis Renz Talosig, chief of the Sawang Calero Police Station, said because of the amount of the seized illegal drugs, Cuizon, a resident of Barangay Pasil here, could be considered a high-value individual on the regional level.

In Barangay Bacayan, three men yielded packs of suspected shabu worth P7 million.

The suspects were identified as Rulan Mahusay Merkado 29; Ryan Arceo Zamora 38; and Reynaldo Avila Ardina, 36.

Major Alvin Llamedo, chief of the Talamban Police Station, said there have been several attempts to arrest the suspects.

“They are very elusive. They transfer from one place to another that’s why it took time before they were arrested,” said Llamedo.
