ILOILO CITY -- A New People’s Army (NPA) amazon wanted for murder has been arrested in Pontevedra town, Capiz province.
Police Regional Office (PRO-6) identified the suspect as Carina Abuyan Oliveros, a Capiz native who allegedly was one of the two who killed a village chief in Tarlac province.
The 38-year-old Oliveros who goes by the aliases of ‘Ida,’ ‘Merly,’ and ‘Tintin’ was arrested by combined police operatives in Sitio Rosario, Batangay Lantangan on Monday, Sept. 19.
Oliveros was arrested by virtue of a December 2013 warrant issued by Judge Jose Valle of the Regional Trial Court (RTC-Branch 68) in Camiling town, Tarlac province.
Oliveros is allegedly involved in a May 2013 shooting incident that killed a barangay captain in Barangay Iba, San Jose town, Tarlac province.
Based on intelligence records, Oliveros is a medic and political guide of the NPA’s 1st Platoon Bataan-Zambales, Provincial Party Committee Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, the PRO-6 hierarchy vowed to continue going after wanted NPA rebels.
“The police will never stop running after these wanted persons, we will catch them one by one, and make them answer for the wrongs they have committed,” said Brigadier General Leo Francisco, PRO-6 director.
