CAGAYAN -- Three students were rushed to Cagayan Valley Medical Center after they were stabbed during a heated argument and a fistfight with a 17 year old male around 03:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, in front of a food house stall at Cagayan Sports Complex of Tuguegarao City.
The injured students were a Grade 12, a Grade 11, and a 15-year old, while their lone opponent in a fistfight was a 17-year old Grade 10.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Samuel Melad and Corporal Ferdinand Pascua recovered the bladed weapon used by the suspect in the incident.
Police obtained footage from a CCTV (close circuit television) installed at Cagayan Sports Complex showing that the three victims were engaged in a heated argument with the suspect that led to the fistfight and stabbing incident.
Meanwhile, Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Ting-Que assured to provide security for the students with the establishment of a police outpost in the Cagayan National High School near the place of the stabbing incident.
