Afternoon classes in all levels for public and private schools in Pasig City are suspended on Friday, Sept. 1, the local government announced, following the yellow rainfall warning issued in Metro Manila due to Typhoon Henry.
Metro Manila, along with Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal were placed under the yellow warning by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 1:15 p.m on Sept. 2.
The Department of Education (DepEd) issued Order 37, Series of 2022, on Thursday, Sept. 1, declaring the automatic cancellation or suspension of in-person and online classes and work in schools "in the event of disasters and other natural calamities.”
As of posting, the local governments of Marikina, Taguig, Valenzuela, Malabon, and Manila have announced suspension of classes.
