Man celebrating birthday yields P136,000 shabu in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested a 50-year-old man celebrating his birth anniversary on Friday, Sept. 2, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Alijis here on Thursday, Sept. 1.

The suspect, Zandro Velasco, of Barangay Alijis, yielded 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000.

Police Capt. Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 7, said that Velasco is a street-level individual.

He was previously arrested for a drug offense but was later released through plea bargain, Bonilla said.

Velasco will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
