TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A drug peddler who was listed as a high value target yielded 126 kilos of marijuana bricks worth P15.6 million as authorities apprehended him after a brief chase in Brgy. Dupag in this city on Friday morning, Sept. 2.

The suspect was identified as Jerry Salang-oy Alunday, 31, alias ‘Wayaway,’ a resident of Barangay Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga.
In a report received by BGen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera from Col. Peter Tagtag, Jr., provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, the Tabuk City Police Station received an information about a Tabuk City-bound white van carrying marijuana bricks from the town of Tinglayan.
The personnel of the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company immediately conducted a checkpoint around 10 in the morning near Barangay Dinakan, Lubuagan, Kalinga for the tipped vehicle.
The white van did arrive but ignored the checkpoint. At this instance, the 2nd Kalinga PMFC immediately notified Pasil MPS, Balbalan MPS, and Tabuk CPS for possible interception of the fleeing vehicle.
The Tabuk CPS was able to intercept the target vehicle near Barangay Dupag, with the suspect found in possession of 126 pieces of marijuana bricks and four pieces of tubular form dried marijuana weighing 130,000 grams with a standard price of P15,600,000.
The inventory of the obtained evidence was conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspect and witnessed by Marianie Dumpao, DOJ Representative; Janet Alagao, Media representative and Catherine Auggas, an official of Brgy. Dupag.
