DOT in Eastern Visayas urges promotion of biggest tourism job fair
The Department of Tourism (DOT) in Eastern Visayas on Friday, Sept. 2, called on the private sector and all tourism stakeholders to heed the call of the national government and promote the National Tourism Job Fair which will help the labor sector recuperate from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Spearheaded by the DOT in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the National Tourism Job Fair is set to be the biggest job exposition in the country, and will be held on Sept. 22 to 24.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco earlier directed its attached agencies and all officials under the DOT to extract all possible undertakings to lead the job fair into success.
In response, the DOT Eastern Visayas appealed to private sectors and other stakeholders to respond to Frasco’s orders.
“In this regard, may we kindly request all DOT accredited tourism-related establishments and private sector partners in Eastern Visayas to ensure high placement results to fill in the gaps in job vacancies in the tourism and allied industries,” the DOT in Eastern Visayas said.
Frasco had said that the long-run activity will be followed by a multi-month series of job fairs which will be simultaneously executed nationwide until May 2023.
“The job fair aims to provide a venue for the creation of employment opportunities in the tourism sector and to assist job seekers, tourism enterprises, and allied industries. A multi-month series of mini job fairs will follow after the launch culminating in May 2023,” said Frasco.
