Minimum wage earners in the provinces of Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Siargao Islands, have received a salary adjustment starting on Sept. 1, according to the wage advisory of the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) released on Friday, Sept. 2.

Based on the advisory of the NWPC, an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the second tranche of Wage Order No. RBXIII-17 amounting to P10 took effect yesterday, Sept. 1, under the directive of Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB) in Caraga (Region XIII).
“The minimum wage for the entire region is P350 per day starting September 1, 2022,” the advisory read.
According to the NWPC, the P10 wage adjustment for Dinagat Islands and Surigao Del Norte including Siargao Islands was part of the P30 increase approved by the RTWPB, which took effect on June 6, 2022.
The new wage adjustment of P350 per day will be applied to all the minimum earners from non-agriculture, agriculture, service/retail establishments, and manufacturing.
The advisory said that the old salary of P305 per day for workers receiving a minimum wage payment will be adjusted to P335, plus an additional P15 for Cost of Living Allowance (CoLA) to commensurate with the new minimum wage order.
