BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Friday, Sept. 2, placed its whole unit in 11 towns and one city on full alert status in preparation for typhoon “Henry.”
Col. Romell Velasco, Bataan police director, said the preparation was in line with the program of Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, dubbed “Malasakit + Kaayusan + Kapayapaan = Kaunlaran.”
Velasco said the BPPO has conducted the accounting of personnel and assigned search and rescue personnel with the necessary equipment on standby, ready to respond at any moment’s notice.
He said the entire Bataan police are ready to cooperate with other agencies to include the 12 local government units (LGUs) in the province to assure the safety of residents.
Velasco said they have appealed to the public to be ready and alert.
“Inaabisuhan rin ang lahat ng mga mangingisda na huwag nang pumalaot gayon na din ang publiko na huwag nang maligo o pumunta sa baybaying dagat upang maiwasan at walang maitalang anumang hindi inaasahang trahedya (We are advising all the fishers not to go out fishing and likewise the public not to swim or go to seas to avoid any unexpected tragedy),” Velasco said.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III asked his constituents to be ready and take extra caution.
“Be prepared for threatening rising water or flooding in some parts of the province. Different government agencies were alerted to be ready to undertake evacuation if necessary,” he said.
