Scattered rains to persist in Metro Manila, other parts of Luzon, Western Visayas due to 'habagat'

The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will continue to bring rains over Metro Manila, other parts of Luzon, and Western Visayas in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday afternoon, Sept. 19.
In its 5 p.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said the habagat will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.
PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains in these areas.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The public is also advised to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.
Although there is no gale warning that is in effect over the country’s seaboards, PAGASA still advised fisherfolk and seafarers to remain vigilant as slight to moderate seas may prevail over the entire archipelago.
