P13.6-M shabu seized in Cebu drug sting

CEBU CITY – Police arrested two drug pushers and seized two kilos of suspected shabu valued at P13.6 million in Barangay Mohon, Talisay City, Cebu on Sunday night, Sept. 19.

Brig. Gen Roque Eduardo Vega, Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO7) director, identified the suspects as Stephen Minguito Mitante, 19, and Jerry Minguito Bionson, 29,

Vega said Mitante and Bionson were identified as high-value individuals operating in Talisay City.

The operation was conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Talisay City Police Station, Cebu Police Provincial Office, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 7, and Naval Intelligence and Security Group-Central.

“PRO 7's strategic, operational objectives and good intelligence-driven operations have helped the police to combat crime and any security threats in the region. Let us remain vigilant, working towards a common goal of a safe and peaceful Central Visayas,” said Vega.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
