CAMP BRIG. GEN. VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police arrested on Sunday, Sept. 18, in Barangay San Isidro, Catanauan, Quezon the alleged leader of a gun-for-hire group tagged in the killing of a lawman and councilor in 2015 and 2020 in Cavite.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-4 A director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. identified the suspect as Saturnino Masikat, the leader of the Masikat Group and fourth most wanted person in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area.
Nartatez said Masikat faces charges for robbery with homicide and murder.
The suspect was arrested on warrants of arrest issued by Judge Gian Enrico Navarro of the Regional Trial Court Branch 133, Tagaytay City, Cavite on March 5, 2022 and Judge Edwin Larida of RTC Branch 18, Tagaytay City.
Police said the Masikat Group operates in Cavite and is also engaged in illegal drug activities.
Masikat, alias “Turne” and “Thor,” was tagged in the killing of Councilor Angeles Masikat Amora on August 29, 2020 in Barangay Pulong Saging, Silang, Cavite.
He was allegedly the mastermind in the killing of Police Officer 3 Renato Ameng assigned to the Cavite Investigation and Detection Unit in 2015 in Imus City, Cavite.
“This is another achievement in our fight against various criminalities in the region. We shall continue to reinforce our police operations and let these criminals pay for their crimes,” Nartatez said.
The Masikat Group had six members, and five of them, including Masikat, had been arrested.
