DSWD releases P2.3 M in educational aid to 839 students in Negros Occidental, Bacolod
BACOLOD CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Western Visayas released P2,311,000 in educational assistance to 839 students here and in Negros Occidental during the fifth payout on Saturday, Sept. 17.

According to the DSWD, 187 were elementary pupils, 173 were high school students, 138 were senior high school students, and 341 were college students.
A total of 2,459 students in the region availed of the cash assistance totaling P6,923,000. Negros Occidental had the highest payout in Western Visayas that day, the DSWD added.
The latest payout here and Negros Occidental prioritized those who were texted from August to September but failed to get their cash assistance due to some circumstances, according to the DSWD.
The last payout for the DSWD cash assistance is scheduled on Sept. 24.
