Valenzuela City Mayor John Rey Tiangco led the groundbreaking of additional public school buildings and the blessing of the vaccine cold room in the city on Friday, Sept. 16.

The new four-story buildings will have eight classrooms built at Navotas National High School (NNHS) and Daanghari Elementary School (DES).
An additional four-story building with 12 classrooms will be built at Tangos Elementary School 1 (TES 1).
"Nine more school buildings are up for construction this year. We hope for the timely completion of these projects so we could accommodate more students and avoid shifting classes,” Mayor Tiangco said.
A total of 128 classrooms in the city were inaugurated in 11 public school buildings last March.
Meanwhile, a cold room was opened on the first floor of the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. Vocational Training Center at Brgy. North Bay Blvd. South, Dagat-dagatan in Navotas City on the same day.

According to the city government, the cold room will store Covid-19 vaccines and will soon stock routine vaccines for pediatric immunization.
The room also has bio-refrigerators, ultra-low temperature freezers that can reach 86℃, and single insulation transport coolers.
The refrigerators can keep the vaccine diluents safely, while the freezers can store around 35,000 vials of sensitive and extremely cold temperature-dependent vaccines, the city government said.
