'Habagat' weakens but rains to persist over Occidental Mindoro, Palawan

The effect of southwest monsoon or “habagat” has weakened as super typhoon Nanmadol, formerly Josie, moved farther away from the country’s area of responsibility on Saturday, Sept. 17, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Althought the habagat has temporarily weakened, PAGASA said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may still affect Occidental Mindoro and Palawan in the next 24 hours.
PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains in these areas.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The public is advised to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
