CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police Regional Office-Cordillera Director BGen. Mafelino Bazar has instructed all Chiefs of Police (COPs) of the different police stations in the region to review and strictly enforce the local ordinances in their respective areas of responsibilities.
Bazar said that the strict enforcement of the local ordinances will help address a wide range of issues and concerns in relation to the peace and order situation of different localities in the region.
"It is very important that we enforce the local ordinances especially on curfew, noise pollution, drinking outside of residences and in parks because this will prevent other bigger cases such as fights between neighbors, fights in the streets and others yet," Bazar explained.
According to the data from PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), from January to April of this year, PROCOR has recorded a total of 9,295 violations of local ordinances in the whole region, of which, 14 individuals were charged while 2,967 were fined according to their respective local ordinances.
"Besides deploying more personnel on the streets for patrolling, restricting the implementation of local ordinances is one of our strategies to further improve the peace and order situation in our region," Bazar added.
