P3.8-M shabu seized, 8 suspects nabbed in Camarines Sur, Masbate anti-drug operations

CAMP OLA, Albay – Authorities seized suspected shabu valued at P3.8 million and arrested eight individuals in three separate anti-drug operations in Camarines Norte and Masbate on Tuesday, Sept. 13, and Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Police Major Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office (PRO)-5 spokesperson, said in Barangay VII in Daet, Camarines Norte, a drug den was dismantled and four suspected patrons were arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bicol on Sept. 13.

Calubaquib identified the suspects as Isagani Hernandez Roson, drug den maintainer; and customers Lyza Galbez Aguilar, Mary Ann Caguimbal Villamora, John Lloyd Arangat Oribiano, and Renan Ranghel Andaya.

Confiscated from them were 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 30 grams with an estimated street value of P204,000.

CAMARINES NORTE

The next day, Sept. 14, at 12:55 a.m., the PDEA-Camarines Norte and police conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok 1, Barangay Magang, Daet where Christianne T. Urbino, alias “Pearl,” 37, and Oliver Bermel, 36, both residents of Purok 2, Barangay Plaridel, Basud, Camarines Norte, were arrested.

“These persons were newly identified drug personalities,” Calubaquib said.

Seized from them were 500 grams of suspected shabu with a total Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P3.4 million.

MASBATE

In Purok 7, Barangay Ibingay, Masbate City on Sept. 13, Junie Legal, alias "Botchoy," was arrested by the police and PDEA during the implementation of search warrant against him.

Legal yielded 16 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 35 grams worth P238,000.

“The apprehended persons will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002,” Calubaquib said.

She said that the success of the operations was the result of the strong collaboration and partnership among PDEA, Police Regional Office-5, and other agencies.

This, she said, enabled the government to pursue its purpose in clearing the community from the influence of any form of illegal drugs.
