Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized over P400 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust in Mexico, Pampanga on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
Police Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo, director of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), said the operation also resulted in the arrest of two big-time drug traffickers identified as 45-year old Wenjie Chen and 42-year old Sy Yan Qing. Both are residents of Angeles City.
Domingo said his men immediately set a buy-bust after a negotiation for the purchase of large quantity of shabu was made, with the meeting place located in Lakeshore along NLEX in Mexico town.
The PDEG operatives were backed by other members of law enforcement agencies that include the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bureau of Customs and the military.
Seized were more or less 55 kilograms believed to be shabu, the marked and boodle money, a car and assorted identification cards of the suspects.
Domingo said the seized drugs have a street value of P408 million.
Meanwhile, four drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Orani, Bataan.
The suspects were identified as Romar Peña, 29; Ramil Ocampo, 23; Joven Lalican, 29; and Thelma Lalican, 57. Seized from them were 13 grams of shabu.
