GENERAL LUNA, Quezon – An initial group of 50 farmers is scheduled to fly to South Korea to work under the seasonal farming program following the signing of the memorandum of commitment between the local government and the Boseong-gun government.

Mayor Matt Erwin Florido here said that they have signed the commitment paper with the Boseong-gun government in Jeollaman-do province to send local farmers to work for five months with a monthly salary of P50,000, free accommodation, food, and airfare.
Director Lee Da-kyung signed the commitment paper in behalf of the Boseong-gun government.
“Although it is still in the initial phase, I believe that this program will be successful with the cooperation of our local government and the Republic of South Korea,” said Florido.
Florido added that once the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is finalized, the recruitment process for Gen. Luna farmers will begin.
“Priority is given to farmers who are 30 to 50-years-old. Must have a passport and be physically fit,” Florido said.
He thanked Prof. Marco Antonio Regalo Rodas who brought the seasonal farming program to General Luna, the first town in Quezon to sign the commitment.
