Senior citizen with disability stabbed dead in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY â€“ A senior citizen with disability was stabbed dead while watching television inside his house in Barangay Taculing here on Monday, Sept. 12.

Lt. Dax Santillan, officer-in-charge of the Police Station 6, said victim Eduard Tornia, 60, was watching television when the suspect, 29-year-old Louie John Barte, barged in his room and allegedly stabbed him in the face and hit him with a steel road in the head.

Tornia was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Police are looking into grudges as possible motive behind the killing as they had an argument last month.

Police recovered the steel rod used in the killing from the scene.

Santillan said that Barte was arrested in a pursuit operation through the help of his sibling.

Murder charges will be filed against the suspect, according to Santillan.
