Police seize P8M worth of shabu, nab 164 wanted persons in daylong operation in Central Visayas
CEBU CITY -- More than P8 million worth of suspected shabu was seized during the 24-hour synchronized anti-criminality law enforcement operations in Central Visayas, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) reported.
Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, regional director of PRO 7, said a total of 164 drug suspects were arrested while 1,193.57 grams of shabu valued at P8,116,276 were seized.
The series of police operations was conducted from midnight on Sept. 13 until midnight on Sept. 14.
Vega added that at least 20 ‘most wanted’ persons and 203 ‘other wanted’ personalities were arrested during the operation.
In the operations against illegal gambling, police arrested 238 and confiscated P25,882 cash.
Vega added that 177 unlicensed firearms and one explosive were confiscated from 17 persons in separate operations against loose firearms.
Vega said efforts against all forms of criminality in Central Visayas will continue.
"I congratulate everyone for a job well done,” said Vega.
“It is important to plan and let everyone get involved in the operation. Good planning will guide our actions and generate good results," added Vega.
