PH to have partly cloudy skies with chances of rain showers, thunderstorms

The entire archipelago will continue to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of rain showers or thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 13.
It advised the public to stay vigilant for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, PAGASA continues to monitor a tropical depression that may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Thursday afternoon or evening, Sept. 15.
Weather specialist Ana Clauren-Jorda said the tropical depression will be given its local name “Josie” once inside the PAR.
The cyclone was last spotted 1,785 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, moving east-northeastward at 10 kilometers per hour.
It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
Clauren-Jorda said the tropical depression will pass through the northeastern portion of PAR, so it is not expected to hit the country.
However, she said the PAGASA will continue to monitor this weather disturbance as it may enhance the southwest monsoon or “habagat” that may bring rains over a large portion of Southern Luzon and Visayas in the next few days.
