P10-M shabu seized in Marikina buy-bust

Over P10 million worth of shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation conducted by law enforcement personnel of the Eastern Police District (EPD) Tuesday, Sept. 13.

According to the police, the suspect, a Marawi City native, was arrested in Marikina City following months of surveillance.

The suspect, whom the police did not identify, used to pose as a slippers vendor but would be selling and selivering drugs using his E-bike around the metropolis.

"Here in Marikina, naging point of transaction lang ito ng mga ito (suspect) dito, pero ang suspect ng operation na ito ay dayo lamang dito sa atin sa Marikina (The suspect is not a native of Marikina and only uses the city as his point of transaction)," EPD Acting District Director Col. Wilson Asueta said.

The suspect yielded 1.5 kilos of shabu stored in 21 small plastic bags. He will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
