Being a mother makes VP Duterte efficient in her job -- Bongbong
Many have been said about Vice President Sara Duterte, especially about her tough, no-nonsense attitude, but President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sees another side to her that made him motivated to assign a gigantic task to her: leading an embattled agency that molds the future of Filipino children.

Speaking to TV host-vlogger Toni Gonzaga, the Chief Executive said it is Duterte’s characteristics as a mother that solidified his belief she would make a great Department of Education (DepEd) secretary, which she welcomed without apprehensions.
“Sa puso niya (in her heart) she is a mom. She is really a mom. When you scratch Sara you find a mother inside. And that’s the best motivation for me because she just say she is doing this for her children,” he said during an interview aired on his 65th birthday on former senator Manny Villar’s AllTV network.
“That’s good enough because she wants the best for her children. She wants best for all children,” Marcos added.
Noting that Duterte feels “very strongly” about her post “as a government worker, as an administrator,” the President heaped praises on her by saying “she is really very competent.”
“I’ve seen her work. She worked very hard. She is very methodical in the way she does things. She doesn’t leave things out and she is very patient,” he added.

Originally, even Marcos himself revealed that Duterte wants the Department of National Defense (DND) post as she had been passionately fighting against communism even in her hometown of Davao City.
But she accepted President’s assignment of righting the Education department, which forms the policies that shape the education of the children Duterte had once said fall victims to leftist groups.
“The Department of Education is not an easy job to put together especially we decided that face-to-face will go on in this upcoming semester. That’s not an easy job because we are transforming the entire education system from what it was during the pandemic back,” Marcos said, adding that he’s confident of Duterte’s abilities.
He described the Vice President and concurrent Education chief as “fortright” because she gets things done.
“That’s why malakas ang loob ko sa kanya. Pag sinabi nya eto, tatrabahuhin ko to (I am confident about her. When she says this, I will work on this),” he shared.
