Defense assets from Israel coming to PH​ — envoy

More defense assets procured by the government from Israel are coming to the Philippines soon, Israel Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss said.

At the sidelines of an anti-drone seminar conducted by the Israeli government, Fluss told reporters military sound systems as well as fast boats are currently being delivered and arriving in the Philippines.

"More will be coming later on as part of the bigger contract," he said.

This was a breakthrough development considering that the Philippines just eased its borders amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

"So a lot of the projects that were postponed because of the restrictions are now moving fast forward. And we expect to see quite a few more system delivered in the coming close period, but also longer period," he said.

"And we also expect new ones coming to the making," he added.
