BACOLOD CITY – Six police officers from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) were reassigned to the Antique PPO effective Saturday, Sept. 10.
Lt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said on Monday, Sept. 12, that the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas ordered their reassignment to replace police officers relieved from their posts following the visit of Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, PRO-Western Visayas acting director.
The six policemen transferred to Antique were Lt. Col. Jigger Gimeno, head of the Police Community Affairs Division Unit (PCADU), and deputy police chiefs Lt. Lynie delos Santos from Murcia, Police Lt. Rex Lendong from La Castellana, Lt. Alfonso Precia from Cadiz City, Lt. Jomel Salarda from Kabankalan City, and Police Lt. Charles Richard Casalan from Binalbagan.
Catalogo said that Gimeno's post was assumed by his deputy, Major Ruel Culanag.
Catalogo said the Negros Occidental police is still looking for a replacement for the five reassigned deputy police chiefs.
He said that their vacant posts would not affect the operations of a police station.
Catalogo said that he has no idea why the policemen in Antique were relieved.
