Eleven couples from Manide tribe tied the knot at a civil mass wedding in Labo, Camarines Norte on Sept. 8.

The ceremony, dubbed "Kasalang Manide", was held at the Labo Sports Complex and is a project of the Local Government Unit of Labo through the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar and in partnership with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Labo Service Center.
NCIP Labo Service Center said in its Facebook post that the ceremony was the highlight of the recently concluded Busig-on Festival 2022.

The newlywed IP couples were from Barangay Malaya, Labo which is an ancestral domain of the Manide tribe, while others were from Barangays Macogon and Daguit.
The Manide tribe, or the Agta tribe as called by Bicolanos, is a Negrito Filipino community in the Bicol region.
The couples received wedding gifts from provincial government officials and the local chief executive of the Municipality of Labo.
Meanwhile, NCIP Labo Service Center also announced the recently finished three-day digital literacy training program for 24 Manide youths from the same province.

The program was courtesy of NCIP Labo Service Center and the Department of Information and Communications Technology's Camarines Norte office.
With the aim to develop the Manide youths into digitally knowledgeable and responsible citizens, topics such as basic computer commands, usage of the internet, social media sites, safe usage of the internet, and more were discussed.
The IP youths were given the chance to use laptops during class to be able to practice their learnings.
