Kai Sotto's efficient game goes for naught as Adelaide loses to Perth
An efficient outing for 7-foot-3 big man Kai Sotto went for naught as Adelaide lost to Perth, 98-87, in a tune-up game on Friday, Sept. 9.

In his first game back since going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft and fresh from a stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the fourth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers, Sotto played limited minutes but nonetheless provided a solid performance for the 36ers.
He posted a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds on a 4-of-5 shooting from the field in just 12 minutes of play. Sotto also finished with a team-high plus-17 in efficiency rating.
Sotto even went on a dunkfest in the second quarter when he helped Adelaide take a 48-47 lead at the half. Perth unleashed a huge run in the third quarter spearheaded by team captain scattering 12 of his 20 points total in that frame as the Wildcats took a 77-65 lead and never looked back.
Tashawn Thomas added 19 points for Perth while Luke Travers had 16 points and nine rebounds.
Antonius Cleveland paced Adelaide with 23 points while Daniel Johnson chipped in 12 markers.
