Drug gang member yields P1.4-M shabu in Lucena buy-bust

LUCENA CITY – Authorities arrested an alleged member of a drug syndicate and seized suspected shabu valued at P1.4 million in a buy-bust operation after midnight Satuday, Sept. 10, in University Site, Barangay Ibabang Dupay here.

Col. Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, said the suspect, Patricio Martin, alias “Nonoy,” 49, of Purok Happy Valley, Barangay Ibabang Dupay, is a member of the Leonora Drug Group and considered a high-value individual because of the amount of illegal drugs that he is able to sell.

Martin yielded were 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 73 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P1,489,200.

A criminal case for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will to be filed against the suspect who is now in the custody of the city police.
