The office of Parañaque 1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will provide employment to displaced and disadvantaged workers through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program for 14 days starting this September.
Olivarez said around 350 individuals are expected to benefit from the first phase of the program.
He said the first batch of beneficiaries from the city’s first districts were already interviewed at the Parañaque Sports Complex on Aug. 31 as part of the evaluation to determine their eligibility to work.
“We thank our friends from the Department of Labor and Employment for giving our constituents the opportunity to work, even on a temporary basis, as part of the government’s assistance to our workers,” Rep. Olivarez said.
“We hope that we can sustain this program which benefits not only our displaced and jobless workers but also our communities that stand to gain from the work to be performed by our program beneficiaries,” he added.
