Police bag 526 wanted persons in Central Visayas

CEBU CITY – More than 500 persons were arrested in the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas’ (PRO 7) "One-Time, Big-Time" operation against wanted persons on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Police Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, director of PRO 7, said the PRO 7 served 3,294 warrants of arrest and 526 were arrested, 45 of whom most wanted persons, in the region-wide, simultaneous serving of arrest warrants.

With the unified effort of PRO 7 personnel, the operation posted an 84 percent accomplishment against wanted personalities, said Vega.

"Consistent operations on the anti-criminality campaign in the region along with the peace and order program thrust of the PNP Chief, the Malasakit+Kaayusan+Kapayapaan= Tungo sa Kaunlaran (M+K+K=K), and the support of the community and the local government units, have helped decrease the crime volume in Central Visayas," said Vega.
