Over P290,000 'shabu' seized in Malabon City

Members of the Northern Police District (NPD) - Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated more than P290,000 worth of shabu and nabbed two suspects in a buy-bust operation along Pampano St., Barangay Longos, Malabon City, on Thursday, Sept. 1.

The suspects were identified as Khurt Esteven A. Ramos, 22, a resident of Barangay Sipac Almacen, Navotas City; and Racquel L. Almasan, 56, a resident of Barangay Gen T. De Leon, of Valenzuela City. They were arrested at around 2 a.m.

Police confiscated two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one plastic bag containing suspected shabu, the buy-bust money, a cellphone, and a black pouch.

According to the police report, the seized shabu weighed 43 grams and worth P292,400.

The arrested suspects will face violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of the Repiblic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Diann Ivy Calucin)
