ILOILO CITY – Police arrested 305 wanted persons across Western Visayas in 24 hours, Tuesday, Aug. 30.

In a report, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 said the suspects were arrested based on 1,216 warrants of arrest implemented by different units in the simultaneous one-day operation.
“This operation against wanted persons was ordered by the national headquarters. Congratulations to all units,” said Police Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, PRO-6 director.
Twenty-four fugitives were classified as most wanted persons (MWPs) while 281 are considered as other wanted persons (OWPs).
Nine MWPs were arrested in Iloilo, followed by Negros Occidental with eight, two each in Iloilo City, Antique, and Guimaras, and one in Bacolod City.
One-hundred fifty-seven OWPs were arrested by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Iloilo Provincial Police Office, 71; Bacolod City, 12; Antique, and Aklan, 11 each; Iloilo City, eight; Capiz, seven; and Guimaras, four.
