Security guard killed in Bacolod collision

BACOLOD CITY – A 41-year-old security guard died when his motorcycle collided with a tricycle and was ran over by a multicab in in Barangay Alijis here Monday, August 8.

Police Capt. Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 7, said the victim, Louie Vergara of Barangay Handumanan here, was on his way to work in a university in this city when a speeding tricycle driven by 23-year-old John Dayday collided with his motorcycle.

Bonilla said Vergara was thrown off to the opposite lane and ran over by a multicab. He died on the spot.

Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to properties have been filed against the drivers of the tricycle and the multicab.

The incident was captured by the multicab’s dashcam.
