Las Piñas LGU to building owners: Ensure safety of structures

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar instructed the city’s building officials to conduct an inspection of all three-storey or higher buildings in the city following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Luzon on July 27.

The city’s building officials reported to Aguilar that they already sent notices to about 65 privately owned hospitals, schools, hotels, condominiums, malls, and commercial establishments in the city.

The building officials told the owners and administrator of privately owned buildings to conduct an inspection, check for any damage, and submit a report on their findings for documentation and monitoring by the city government.

Aguilar said a team composed of building and Engineering Office officials conducted the inspection of all public and government structures immediately after the earthquake.

She said the move was made to ensure the safety of all city residents and employees working in private hospitals, schools, hotels, condominiums, malls, and commercial establishments.
