GMA Network wins TV Station of the Year at Golden Laurel 2022 Awards

Awards keep pouring in for leading broadcast company GMA Network. It recently took home various recognitions including the “TV Station of the Year” award at the Golden Laurel 2022: The Batangas Province Media Awards.

GMA New and Public Affairs pillar Jessica Soho was conferred the "JPL Lifetime Achievement Award" for her commendable contribution to the field of journalism. Soho hosts the Filipinos’ favorite Sunday viewing habit and multi-media leader Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho. The show likewise took home two awards: “Best Magazine Show” and “Best Magazine Show Host” for Soho.

Just recently, the magazine program has set another record as it became the most followed Philippine news publisher on TikTok. Various Kapuso programs and personalities were also honored at this year’s Golden Laurel Media Awards.

The country’s longest-running morning show Unang Hirit took home the Best Morning Show award this year. Top-notch public affairs program I-Witness, on the other hand, was named “Best Documentary Show.”

Born to be Wild added another feather in its cap after winning the “Best Educational Program.” Kapuso TV personality Drew Arellano bested other nominees as he received the “Best Educational Program Host” award for infotainment show AHA!

Award-winning broadcast journalist Atom Araullo was recognized as “Male News Anchor of the Year” for GTV’s primetime newscast State of the Nation.

Organized by the Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas, the Golden Laurel 2022: The Batangas Province Media Awards held the hybrid awarding ceremonies of last Aug. 4 at the LPU-Batangas Main Campus.

Winners were chosen based on the votes of students, employees, and partner schools in Batangas province.
