DFA retains Alert Level 1 for Filipinos in Israel

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has maintained the Alert Level 1 status for Filipinos in Israel.​​

​According to the DFA website, Alert Level 1 or Precautionary Phase is issued due to valid signs of "internal disturbance, instability or external threat to the host country."

DFA retained the lowest alert level status as it welcomed the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, which came after Israel reportedly carried out an attack there.

" that the ceasefire holds. We call on parties to exercise restraint and to respect the terms of the ceasefire," DFA said in a statement.

DFA said that there is no report of any Filipino harmed in the conflict at the time of announcement. DFA spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza said there are 160 Filipinos in Gaza.

"The DFA, through its Embassies in Tel Aviv and Amman, is monitoring the situation. The safety and security of every Filipino overseas remain the priority of the Philippine government," it said.

Despite the ceasefire between the two warring parties, DFA called on the Filipino communities in the Gaza Strip and surrounding areas to remain in their residences as much as possible, to avoid public areas, and to continue to monitor the security situation through the Embassies' official communication channels.
