Darryl Yap tells Vince Tanada: Disclose the real box-office gross of 'Katips'

Controversial director Darryl Yap has challenged actor-director Vince Tanada to disclose the real box-office gross of his movie "Katips."

"For the sake of honesty and for your cause to fight disinformation, I challenge Vince Tanada to disclose the real numbers of his films’ gross," wrote Darryl on Facebook.

Darryl also asked Vince to explain why he joked about P41.8 million for the opening day of his movie, which won several awards at this year's FAMAS, including best picture.

"Explain why you joked about 41.8M for your opening day and why you enjoy the fake news of 198M as your total gross to date," the youthful director said.

Darryl added: "Together, We must fight the bigger enemy, Mr. Tañada. This and all for the sake of the Philippine movie industry and our responsibility to the Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines."

Vince earlier said that misinformation is the bigger enemy, not "Maid In Malacanang."

Darryl's "Maid In Malacanang" and Vince's "Katips" clashed at the box office on Aug. 5.

As of Aug. 9, "Maid" already hit the P140 million mark.
