Minor marijuana peddler, cohort nabbed in Laguna buy-bust

KAMPO HENERAL PACIANO RIZAL, Sta. Cruz, Laguna – A minor and his adult companion were arrested and half kilo of suspected marijuana valued at P61,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation Friday, August 5, in Calamba City, this province.

Police Col. Cecilio Ison Jr., Laguna police director, identified the adult suspect as Joemari Casaje Atienza of Barangay Paciano, Calamba City.

Police did not identify the minor suspect.

The Calamba City Police Station arrested the suspects after they sold marijuana to a police poseur-buyer.

Recovered from the suspects were marijuana in six packages wrapped in plastic weighing 510 grams and the marked money.

Suspects are in the custody of the Calamba City police.

They face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002).

The pieces of evidence will be submitted to the Crime Laboratory Office for forensic examination.

Minor suspect will be taken to the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
