AQ Prime Artists lend glamor to FAMAS Awards

It's all systems go for the launching of the latest streaming service AQ Prime which will be available for download on Google Play and App Store starting Aug. 8.

As part of its pre-opening salvo, the top officials and contract artists of AQ Prime prominently played a role in the recently-concluded Famas Awards 2022 held at the Metropolitan Theater last July 31. The ceremonies will also be replayed in AQ Prime sometime this August.

CEO and President Atty. Aldwin Alegre together with COO Atty. Honey Quiño were seen on stage presenting the Susan Roces Celebrity Award to National Artist for Film Ms. Nora Aunor. The AQ Prime-produced Winwyn Marquez starrer "Nelia" also received nominations this year for Best Screenplay and Best original Song.

Likewise seen walking the red carpet and acting as presentors in the different awards categories of FAMAS were AQ Prime Assets Yana Fuentes, Krista Miller, Nika Madrid, Joni McNab, Emelyn Cruz, Drei Arias as well as AQ Prime Artists Seon Quintos and Jervin Mendoza, They were all dressed in elegant Filipiniana attire.

Atty. Quiño said they were happy to collaborate with a prestigious award-giving body like FAMAS. She said this is all in line with AQ Prime's wish "to showcase the talents of local cinema and the Philippines' high quality movies through a more international audience. "

Atty. Alegre particularly lauded the efforts of FAMAS to include and recognize veteran artists in the 2022 awards such as Pepito Rodriguez, Roger Calvin, Marissa Delgado and Baby O'Brien. Tessie Agana, a star in the 1960s, was also given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the academy.

"We hope they will be able to make movies with AQ Prime, as age is certainly not a hindrance to their career. We are here to support them," Alegre noted.

A line-up of exciting movies is scheduled to be shown once AQ Prime starts streaming along with its pay-only platform for adult content called Director's Cut. Among these movies are Nelia, Huling Lamay, Z Love, Pula Ang Kulay Ng Gabi, Upuan, Cuatro, Anatomiya, Bingwit, Adonis X, Mang Kanor, Ligaw, La Traidora, a BL reality show called Love Or Lie At First Sight, to name just a few.
