Team Secret survives ORDER as lower bracket run continues

Team Secret lived to fight another day as it survived Australian squad ORDER, 2-1, in the lower bracket of the the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2022: APAC Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) Friday, Aug. 5.

Jayvee "DubsteP" Paguirigan led Team Secret with 55 kills and 12 assist on his signature Jett as the Filipinos continue their run in the lower bracket after falling against BLEED Esports last Aug. 4 in the upper semis.

After a 1-1 equalizer in Icebox and Ascent, where both squads eked out twin 13-5 wins, Team Secret had the last laugh in its last map pick Breeze in Game 3 and emerged triumphant with a close 13-11 victory.

It was Jeremy "Jremy" Cabrera though, on his Chamber pick, who spearheaded Team Secret in Game 3 with 23 kills and two assists.

Jessie "JessieVash" Cuyco (Sova) and DubsteP got 17 frags apiece while Jim "BORKUM" Timbreza (Viper) and Riley "witz" Go (Skye) had 15 kills each.

ORDER managed to put the match within striking distance, 12-11, behind the four-kills site security of Matthew O'Rourke's Viper, who punished Team Secret inside his poison pit.

But that round proved to be the last for the Aussie squad as DubsteP retaliated with a 4K of his own using his clinical sniping skills with an Operator to secure the series win.

ORDER initiator Elvin "Maple" Sun, on his Fade and Sova, paced the squad with 56 kills and 19 assists.

Team Secret faces ONIC G next in Round 4 of the lower bracket later today, Aug. 6.

Awaiting in the lower bracket final is BLEED Esports, which succumbed to BOOM Esports, 2-1, earlier in the upper final.
