P1.7-M illegal drugs seized, 506 wanted persons arrested in Baguio from January to July


BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) seized P1.7-million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 506 wanted persons from January to June this year.

Police Col. Glenn Lonogan, city police chief, said they conducted 119 anti-drug operations in which 114 drug personalities were arrested and 221.3723 grams of shabu, 921.04 grams of marijuana, and 585 milliliters of marijuana oil with a total market value of P1,725,531.88 were seized.

Lonogan said of the 506 arrested wanted persons, nine are regional level, 29 are city level, four are provincial level, eight are municipal level, and 121 are station level.

He added 335 other wanted persons were arrested and accounted for by operating law enforcers.

The BCPO conducted 79 operations against loose firearms. Four loose firearms were seized while 75 assorted firearms were surrendered.

He said four persons were arrested and subsequently charged for violation of the pertinent provisions of Republic Act 10591 or the Revised Firearms Law.

Twenty individuals were apprehended during the conduct of four anti-gambling operations. They were charged for violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 1602 or the Anti-Gambling Law.

Lonogan emphasized that in the aggressive implementation of traffic rules and regulations, some 46,694 erring motorists were apprehended that resulted in the payment of more than P20.2 million in fines.
