Waiting area for patients’ companions installed at Ospital ng Muntinlupa

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced that a temporary waiting area for patients’ companions was installed at the Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun).

This is part of Biazon’s plan to further improve the services and facilities at the city-run hospital located in Alabang.

Current Covid-19 protocols at OsMun do not allow companions of patients to stay in hospital rooms. They had to wait outside the hospital.

When Biazon visited OsMun last month, he vowed to implement reforms, including installing a waiting area.

“Pagtapos ng clearing operations, inilagay na ang tents para sa temporary waiting area sa Ospital ng Muntinlupa. Limang tents ang ipinalagay natin dito. Maglalagay din ng electric fans dito at mga upuan. (After the clearing operations, tents were installed at the temporary waiting area at Ospital ng Muntinlupa. I ordered the installation of five tents. Electric fans and chairs will also be placed in the area),” said Biazon.

He said the temporary waiting area is for families of patients as staying in hospital rooms is not allowed due to the Covid-19 rules.

In addition, he said, four restrooms at the waiting area are being constructed, and the repair of windows and cases of airconditioning unit is also underway.

“Malaking bagay ang ilang repairs na isinagawa sa OsMun—ang paghakot ng mga hindi na nagagamit na equipment, pag-trim ng overgrown trees, declogging of drainage, pagpipintura ng sidewalk, pati pagsasaaayos ng pharmacy area (The repairs being undertaken at OsMun would help a lot –the hauling of unusable equipment, trimming of overgrown trees, declogging of drainage, painting the sidewalk, and repairing the pharmacy area),” the mayor added.

He said, “Phase 1 pa lamang ito ng repairs (This is only phase 1 of the repairs). We hope to do more in terms of upgrading the facilities and equipment.”

Biazon thanked City Administrator Engr. Allan Cachuella, the OsMun administration, and the Muntinlupa City Engineering Department, Environmental Sanitation Center, Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management, and Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau for their help in making the repair works possible.
