Fish dealer shot dead in Tacloban

TACLOBAN CITY – A 46-year-old fish dealer was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in Barangay 71 here Tuesday, August 2.

Police identified the victim as Roel Bacunawa of Barangay 6, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Investigation disclosed that Bacunawa, his wife, and driver were onboard their service vehicle from Guiuan to deliver fish to Tanauan, Leyte.

They decided to make a stopover on the roadside in Naga-Naga, Barangay 71.

Two men onboard a motorcycle suddenly appeared and shot the victim for no apparent reason.

Bacunawa died on the spot while the gunmen fled.

Police have yet to ascertain the motive of the killing and are now hunting the suspects.
