Cop dies in Aklan motorcycle accident

ILOILO CITY – A 27-year-old policeman died in a motorcycle accident in New Washington, Aklan Thursday, August 4.

The victim was identified as Police Patrolman Cesar Nedic Jr. of Madalag, Panay.

Nedic, assigned to the 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company, was on his way to Kalibo, the provincial capital of Aklan, when the accident happened at around 2 a.m.

He lost control over his motorcycle and rammed into a warning sign in Barangay Tambak.

Rescuers from the New Washington Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rushed Nedic to the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital in Kalibo where he was declared dead due to a major head injury.

Initial investigation said the victim might have lost control of his motorcycle because of slippery road from intermittent rain.
