Woman survives fall from Pasig hotel

A young woman survived and sustained only minor injuries after falling from a window of a hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City.

The incident happened on Aug. 19 but the video of the woman hanging on a window of a high-rise building just recently went viral. After a few minutes, the woman can be seen letting go and falling on the ground.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, Aug. 30, the Richmond Hotel Ortigas explained that the woman "forcibly manipulated the safety lock of the glass windows."

She "proceeded to allow herself to fall from the window," it said.

The guest sustained minor injuries, but was immediately discharged from the hospital hours after the incident, it added.

The hotel management asked the public to respect the privacy of the victim and her family.
