The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday gave assurance that Filipinos in Shenzhen, China, which is currently under Covid-19-related lockdown, are in good condition.
Ma. Teresita Daza, DFA spokesperson, said the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) based in Guangdong province already reached out to the Filipino community in Shenzhen.
PCG was then informed that most Filipinos in the province are not living in subdistricts covered by the lockdown, she said.
"Those who are, are currently working from home," Daza added.
According to DFA records, there are about 800 Filipinos working in Shenzhen. Most of them are employed as teachers, engineers, architects, musicians and household workers.
