3 hurt in Bacolod fire; 11 houses destroyed

BACOLOD CITY – Three persons were injured in a fire that destroyed 11 houses in Purok Amor, Lopez Jaena St., Barangay Villamonte here Wednesday, Aug. 31.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Bacolod identified them as Armando Dellia, 72, who sustained a laceration in his left foot; Judith Ramos, 47, who suffered chest pain and body weakness, and Sharon Aguilar, 56, who had difficulty in breathing.

The BFP-Bacolod said the fire broke out at around 10:55 a.m. from the house of Edwin dela Cruz. The blaze immediately spread to neighboring houses made of light materials.

Initial cost of damage was pegged at P900,000.

Fire out was declared after almost an hour.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire.
